Medical Unit-II, HFH
Department of Medicine Medical Unit-II (MU-II), Holy Family Hospital (HFH), Rawalpindi is virtually a linchpin among professional units of Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU), Rawalpindi. Organizationally Medical Unit-II incorporates not only the discipline of internal medicine but also caters sub-specialty like cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology and Neurology etc. Our responsibilities include patient care, clinical teaching of Medical Students and Post Graduate Trainees along with research focusing local needs.
We are on call on alternative days throughout the year. The Department teaches residents of MD/FCPS programs and Foundation Programs, along with undergraduates of Rawalpindi Medical University. Apart from provision of Clinical Medicine related services, we provide clinical help and human to other department like Infectious Diseases and Intensive Care/Critical Care Unit, and Nephrology Department of HFH. MU-II HFH remained actively involved in patient management during Dengue epidemics 2019. In Addition to Internal Medicine OPD, MU-II runs Pulmonology and Diabetic clinics.
We conduct 6 monthly evaluation of Postgraduate Trainees and 3 monthly evaluation of Internship Program doctors. For patients and community information we display common clinical information by multimedia. A lot of upgradation has been done in MU-II during last year on self-help/philanthropist basis. This include: 1) LED screen for information display, 2) infrastructure improvement in terms of tiling, paint work and electricity points improvements, 3) provision of multimedia projector, 4) extension of clinical teaching area, and 5) CCTV Cameras installation etc.
