I, on behalf of the Academic Council of Rawalpindi Medical University, warmly welcome you all to Rawalpindi Medical University and Allied Hospitals, Rawalpindi. It is indeed a great honor and privilege for me to serve as the Vice Chancellor of this esteemed institution.

Never in my wildest dreams, when I joined this college as a first-year medical student 33 years ago, did I imagine that I would one day be entrusted with the responsibility and distinction of leading it as its Vice Chancellor. For me, RMU is not merely an academic institution — it holds a place in my heart that words can scarcely capture. Everything that Allah has blessed me with in my professional life, I owe to RMU.

As a proud graduate of the second batch of Rawalpindi Medical College, I take immense pride in being the first Rawalian to achieve the FCPS, the first Rawalian Assistant Professor, the first Rawalian Professor, and now the first Rawalian Vice Chancellor. Each of these milestones has deepened my love and commitment to this university, its dedicated faculty, hardworking staff, and above all, its brilliant and inspiring students. My emotional connection with RMU is truly beyond description.

The timeless vision of our founding Principal, Prof. Abdul Lateef (Late) — “Enter to learn; leave to serve” — remains deeply etched into the spirit of every Rawalian. It continues to guide and inspire generations of students and faculty alike in their pursuit of knowledge and service.

I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely appreciate and acknowledge the contributions of our esteemed teachers and all past and present faculty members. Their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts have played a pivotal role in shaping this university into the respected institution it is today.

Furthermore, I am proud to share that Rawalpindi Medical University holds accreditation from both the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), reflecting our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic and professional excellence.
