Ophthalmology Department BBH RMU
Department of ophthalmology was to provide comprehensive ophthalmic
services to patients and imparting education to undergraduate,
postgraduates and clinicians. Eye department BBH comprises of 32
bedded Eye ward, eye OPD and operating theater complex. The
department is chaired by Medical diagnostic and surgical facilities for
cataract, Glaucoma , Cornea, Orbit, Oculoplastics and Vitreoretinal
disorders. LVA facilities are also provided. FFA, visual fields, A-scan, Bscan, biometry argon and yag laser are routine diagnostic and therapeutic
procedures being done at department.

Research Model Of the Department
Disease Research Projects
Particularly aimed at investigating methods to improve surgical and non surgical treatment of eye diseases. Collaboration with other institutes in the field of Artificial intelligence for diagnosis of various ophthalmologic disorders remains of particular interest.
Retrospective Studies with medical records
Retrospective studies are done to develop a better understanding of the natural course of eye diseases, the long term outcomes of disease treatment and trends and the frequency of eye related illness in collaboration with biostaticians and Department of Medical Education.
Fellowship/University Research Thesis
Mandatory projects which are required for the completion of residency programs, done by the residents.
Clinical Audits/Quality Improvement Projects
Quality improvement process that seeks to improve patient care and outcomes through systematic review of care against explicit criteria and the implementation of change
